A True Blog Geek!

by Paul Wilson

A True Blog Geek!

So, I decided that I was going to try a new form of advertising—License Plate Advertising.

Recently I paid $58 to acquire a vanity plate from the The Utah Department of Motor Vehicles. Believe it or not, but BLOGGER had not been taken! I know, I too was astounded. It’s like finding a great one word domain name available.

I am the 39,615,049 richest person in the world

I am the 39,615,049 richest person in the world

penny.jpg So according to www.globalrichlist.com I am “the 39,615,049 richest person in the world!” Who knew that I made “the top 50 million richest people in the world” list. My secret to my untold wealth comes from the thousands of pennies I have saved over the years 8)!

I must admit that I thought that this social marketing tactic was quite clever. I think it follows the same vein with the previous post of Dove’s enhancement video (and TuffSheet’s spoof off of it). I think that most marketers these days have lost the creativity to engage the consumer.

TV advertising has created a generation of marketers that believe quantity not quality matters. Instead of finding quality ways to make the consumer buy, marketers these days create garbage and send it to the masses. These gimmicks are used in hopes that a small percentage will digest the noise and evidently submit themselves to the will of the Almighty Marketer!

Dove’s Advertisement

by Paul Wilson

I stumbled across the below video when Dove won some award. Being in marketing I felt that this was very appropriate for the MyMarketer blog.

However, I must admit that the next video makes more of a statement 8)! Nothing like amplifying reality!

Life Hacks: A True Time Hack

Life Hacks: A True Time Hack

carnival_clock.jpg Lately, as I’ve been working more and more on the web I’ve noticed a problem—I lose track of time. Sometime I lose track of days. I just got back from having dinner with a friend and I told him how I dip my head into the Internet and sometimes I forget to come up for life.

I know many of you whose primary income comes from online ventures have similar struggles. I become so in grossed in what I am doing that I don’t realize that I am allowing life to slip by. As amazing as the Internet is, actually living a healthy balanced life is more amazing.

So I decided to do some hunting to see if I could find something to help me come back to reality. One idea I came up with was being reminded of the time. I know that Microsoft Outlook has reminders that I could set but there’s nothing I hate more than having my work placed in the background when Outlook has a reminder pop up (really annoying Microsoft!).

Selling MyFuturePresident.com

by Paul Wilson

Selling MyFuturePresident.com

forsale.jpg So, having these daily lunchboxes makes it more apparent how little I blog. Honestly, if I could get a job that just let me blog my own site then I would be all over it. Such is not the case, and therefore you must persist in having the daily lunchboxes!

However, I did want to let my readership know that Janet and I are selling myfuturepresident.com. Back in January we were going to develop this into a voting web site. Basically it was going to be a site in which anyone in the world could register to vote on who they would like to be the future president of the United States. You see, we want to market everything AND the kitchen sink.

But, being slightly ADD, we’ve overextended ourselves. We’re still working on two ebooks, Scholar.ly, and our dating website (which is being redesigned right now). We realize this can be a great domain – www.myfuturepresident.com for someone else. Look at myfuturepresident.com on Sedo.

The Daily Lunch Box #09

The Daily Lunch Box #09

What is the Daily Lunch Box?

Additional suggestions from yesterday’s email tdlb01.jpg
Justin recommends SideStep.com as another great traveling website.

I don’t really have a theme for today, just some random but fun websites:

flashface.ctapt.de – An amazing “Web Mr. Potato Head” website. Seriously, build a face from beginning to finish and see how fun this site is.
