Jen- My sister works for the Denver Post and they have seen a steadily decrease in their offline subscriptions. The Internet has definitely become the medium of choice. If the newspapers don't do something soon they will die.

As for accuracy, I don't see online any more inaccurate than offline. Wikipedia ran an article on how they found over a 100 inaccuracies in the encyclopedia. With that said, I can see it being easier to get an offline paper to retract something negative. You put it online, you can bet it will spread quickly, and trying to retract it will be extremely difficult. ~Paul W.

Actually, that's one issue we've been discussing in class lately. Mass Journalism. Has Twitter or any other online network taken over the print and broadcast media? Which source is more credible? If an accident happens right outside your house, you could easily take shots of the scene and upload it on your Web site instantly. You can even write a story about it already.

It is hard to keep up with all of the new web 2.0 websites out there, but I'm going to have to admit that twitter does look like a worthwhile investment if you have the time to add another website to your marketing plan.
