I have been curious about how much “buzz” we have been generating here in SLC in trying to get Seth Godin to come. More particularly, I wanted to see a comparison with the other cities who are doing the same thing. When I did a search on Seth Godin’s book tour all I could find was Phoenix’s efforts. Below are some graphs from IceRocket comparing the buzz between Utah and Arizona (the graph may be difficult to see, if this is the case click the graph for a larger look).
| Trend Terms / Back to search results | Posts per day | Average % | Total posts |
| Utah | 0.73 | 0.0002 | 22 |
| Arizona | 0.10 | 0.0000 | 3 |
I was actually surprised at the results (I honestly think there are more results that IceRocket is not tracking). To be fair to Arizona I also did search on the buzz between the keywords Salt Lake City and Phoenix. This seems to even out the two. See below graph:
| Trend Terms / Back to search results | Posts per day | Average % | Total posts |
| Salt Lake City | 0.03 | 0.0000 | 1 |
| Phoenix | 0.63 | 0.0001 | 19 |
So according to IceRocket the buzz between the two states is neck-to-neck; with Arizona showing a 22 posts and Utah 23 posts. Considering that Arizona has had over a month to generate this interest I am very proud of our efforts here in Utah! ~Paul W.
