So, I know this horse is pretty dead, but I think I am going to kick it one more time. As many already know, a few months ago Netflix angered their user base by breaking up and charging more for their services.

My wife and I were one of the many customers that canceled our account with them when they made these changes. The change on their part really made us ask how valuable was this service really to us. I know we would have kept on paying our $9.99 monthly fee without asking this question if they had maintained their usual course. However, once we did ask the question we realized that there was enough free streaming (hulu) and paid DVD (redbox) services for us to confidently walk away from our Netflix addiction.

11 Tips on How to Improve your Business Blog

Recently, I was looking through my draft folder on mymarketer, which holds all the posts ideas I’ve wanted to write but saved for a slow rainy day. I noticed that my oldest blog post idea dates back to August of 2007. I feel 33 months is a bit too long for a draft idea to stay dormant, and obviously that slow rainy day isn’t coming anytime soon.  The occasion has come to blow off the cobwebs and allow this idea to come to fruition.

My idea stemmed from an article in the Wall Street Journal, which gave some interesting data about the importance of business blogging.  I have always had a keen interest on this subject. Mainly, because business blogging is what really launched my Internet marketing career. Having seen a great deal of success with blogging, I am an avid believer that, if done correctly, blogging can be a great online tool for boosting a business’s bottom line.

It is interesting to see that almost three years later the debate continues concerning the importance of businesses utilizing blogging as a resource and a business tactic. Having just left corporate America I still believe that business blogging is not used enough as an online tool. With this in mind below are my 11 tips on how to fully take advantage of blogging as a resource for your business:

No matter how great and destructive your problems may seem now, remberer, you're probably only seeing the tip of them.

So, this last week I have been in Las Vegas taking a Java Boot Camp course.  Frankly, it has been a rough go for me. Having been on the marketing side for so long my mind just doesn’t want to simulate into the “everything must have a defining class” universe.

I am working on a project that requires me to interview a lot of people over the phone. If anyone has done this, he or she knows that it is really hard to pay attention to your interviewee when you are taking copious notes.

Living in the amazing era that we do, I knew that there had to be a cool website that allowed me to record my phone calls for free. Anytime I have to do a search for something cool like this I don’t turn to Google—I ask Delicious.com’s opinion.
