The Top 100+ Books Every Internet Entrepreneur Should Read

The Top 100+ Books Every Internet Entrepreneur Should Read

For the last several months I have been working with Janet (aka newspapergirl.com) on creating a title for her new online pr book. That’s right, I said several months! We have gone through hundreds of possibilities. Personally, my favorite so far is, “Lois Lane’s Complete Guide To Online Press Releases” (her blog tagline is: The Lois Lane of the Web). Something about not infringing on trademarks keeps her from going with that title. Can you really trademark Superman!

It would not surprise me to learn that Janet has lost some sleep over her struggle of coming up with a nice catchy title. So, I decided I would help her further and research the titles on books people like. I’ve read hundreds of people’s top 3,5,10 books list. As I read these lists I would copy to a text file titles I liked. Soon I was creating a rather comprehensive list of my own.

My Own Challenge: Creating One Massive List of Lists

by Paul Wilson

See The Mother of All Lists.

Darren Rowse over at Problogger is doing another “31 Days to Build a Better Blog.” In his second lesson he encouraged those participating to create a list post and then to submit the list into the comments of his post.

By the time I submitted my own list there were hundreds of lists already submitted (553 to be exact). Being that I recently became a father in the last few days sleeping has become a luxury. This being the case, I decided to take advantage of my sleepless nights and compile all the lists that were in Darren’s comments.

The Top Five AntiSocial Social Sites

The Top Five AntiSocial Social Sites

antisocial For several years I have studied and participated in online communities. Without doubt they make the web fun. However, I have also noticed that the most interesting people run these websites. It’s like there is this inner circle of moderators/gestapo who are the most antisocial beings on the planet. It seems that certain social communities deliberately recruit people who have ogre DNA.

If it sounds like I am a little bitter it is because I am. For the last several years I have been an active member of the webmaster forum, Digital Point.  A few days ago I was banned from the forum due to a stupid mistake on my part. Now, a lot of my freelance work depends on this forum, so, I tried to see if I could somehow talk to someone about my wrongdoing. However, every time I typed in the site I received the following screen:

A List of WordPress Theme Directories

by Paul Wilson

WordPress is an amazing software but who ever built their search function on their dot org should be fired! You cannot find anything you are really looking for. I actually complained to Matt Mullenweg about it at WordCamp. It’s so bad that people like Joost de Valk at Yoast.com built his own google search engine for wordpress plugins. He says he is going to build a wordpress theme search engine for us, but until he does I have compiled a brief list of free wp themes you can use. If you know any other theme directories let me know. Cheers! ~Paul W.
